Chapter 1

    Darkness still surrounds me. I put me back legs against the shell of my egg. I wanted out! I pushed with all my strength but still the shell would not brake. I stopped trying. I started to become sad thinking that I wouldn't see my family, that they'd think I was dead and throw my away.

    But then I thought of the happiness I'll have and that gave my strength. With new determination in my eyes I pulled back my legs and kicked at the shell. I thought it did nothing till I heard a loud cracking sounded through the air. I sat stunned till I gathered up my strength again and kicked at the shell.
    
    There was more cracking sounds and a gaping hole was in front of me. Finally! I twisted around in what was left of my egg and crawled out. It was bright outside my egg, I had to let my eyes get use to the light. I was then spooked by voices.

    "It's a female Eevee. Hopefully this one will last longer than the other ones" one voice said. It sounded deep and didn't sound like a nice person. I was still partly blind because of the bright light and was again spooked by another voice that sounded like it was from a younger person.

    "This one will be number 128" it said. I felt something slip around my neck and a loud snapping sound was heard behind my head. By this time I was able to see better and was shocked to see two humans standing before me. They both wore long white lab coats and one seemed young while the other seemed old. I looked down to see a blue collar around my neck with a key chain saying 128. Behind me were the remains of my egg.

    "Put it in its cage" the older human said. I looked back at the two humans. It? They just said I was a girl. The younger humans wrapped his hands around me and picked my up. He started to move away from the older human and through a doorway that led into a long hallway.

    I looked up at the young human. He seemed to have no exasperation on his face. He didn't look mad or sad and at the same time didn't look happy. He walked into another room not far from where I hatched. I looked around the room curiously. The room was fill with cages of pokemon. I didn't know what was going to happen next as the human opened a cage and placed me inside it. Without a word he shut the cage door and left. I looked on from my cage and listened to the pokemon around me.

    "Help me!" "I want out!" "I want to be free!" is what some were saying. I started to become scared. Those weren't the things you hear normally, they sound like things you'd hear from those who are tortured. I backed up cowardly into my cage. I didn't want to be there ether I wanted to be with my family.

    "Hey!" I heard someone say. I ignored it thinking it was just another pokemon trying to get attention.
    
    "Hey eevee!" they called. I perked my ears, I was an eevee. I walked to the cage door and looked around. The room was the same as it was.
    
    "Over here!" the voice came again. I looked to the left of me to see an umbreon in a cage next to me. His cage was bigger than mine was and he wore a red collar.

    "You must be the new guy," the umbreon said. I nodded not sure what to say.

    "What's your name?" he asked nicely.

    "I don't have a name" I replied sadly. I wanted to see my family so that they could name me. Tears came to my eyes, I felt so lonely.
    
    "Well, what's your I.D number?" He asked me. I.D number? I didn't know what that was. Then I thought of the strange number the one human had said.

    "128" I said hoping that was right.
    
    The umbreon nodded. "Okay, I'm 239 but you can call me Alpha".
